Train Hire!

Scout Train

Supporters of the 36th Ipswich have built a train and carriages from an old ride on lawn mower, which is now used to raise funds for the group. It is hired out for parties, weddings and other fundraising events as well as making an annual appearance at our Fete.

The train carries 8 adults or 12 small children and needs to run on relatively flat ground.
We limit the area covered to north Essex and Suffolk.
The train and coaches arrive on a purpose built trailer which needs to be able to turn (so no tight spaces to reverse the trailer please!)
You will need to supply 'ticket sellers' and/or 'waiting room' staff.
Hire Charge:
The hire charges allow for the customer to charge for the rides. But, we are always open to discussion about split costs & profits if the event is sufficiently large enough (circa 2,000 people for 3 hours)
Charges vary with the type of use and duration. Unfortunately our single major cost is the cost of Public liability insurance (which is NOT covered by the Scout General Insurance Policy - its a motor driven vehicle!).
We hire out the train at the following rates, which includes delivery to site, driver and public liability insurance:
· Registered Charity Half Day £125
· Registered Charity Whole day £175
· Commercial / Private Half Day £175
· Commercial / Private Whole day £225
These allow us to cover our costs and raise monies for our Scout Group which is a registered charity serving the children and community of the Chantry area of Ipswich.
Depending on the location we reserve the right to erect Green Roll Barrier Fencing to provide a safe running environment for the train.
