The County photographic competition is now open! All members of scouting are encouraged to take part, from the very youngest Beaver through to the eldest leader or occasional helper.
The theme for this year's competition is "Scouting" Your photo can be of anything that you think captures the spirit of Scouting!

Suffolk Scouts County Photography Competition 2015 Official Rules
1. The Competition is open to all members of Scout Association in Suffolk from age 6 and upwards
2. Each member will be allowed to submit a maximum of 2 pictures to the competition
3. All photographs must be taken during 2015, by the named photographer.
4. The theme of the competition is "Scouting". 5. Entries will be split into
5 Categories : Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, 18+.
6. Pictures will be judged in the age range that the photographer was in when the picture was taken
7. Submissions in digital jpg formats are preferred, with original camera Exif data attached.
8. Digital Pictures must be submitted to the official photo competition email address only : suffolkscouts.photography.comp@gmail.com
9. Non digital pictures can be submitted by post to “County Photographic Competition, c/o 19 Merriam Close, Brantham. CO11 1RY”- these must be 7x5 prints.
10. All pictures must be submitted with the name of the photographer, date of birth, Scout Group and District details. These details must be written on the back of any photos which are sent via post.
11. The Competition will be open for submission between 1st April and 1st September. Any submissions received outside these dates will be ignored.
12. After the 1st September, a short-list of 10 pictures in each category will be chosen by a judging panel formed by Chris Webb, Chris Mapey and Tony Flury.
13. The shortlist on each category will be judged into 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for that category by a final panel formed by Jenny Mullan and invited judges.
14. The decisions of the short-list panel and the Judging panel are final.
15. All judging will be anonymous - i.e. at no stage will the judges know who the photographer was, or which group/district they are from, until after the decisions are made.
16. 1st, 2nd & 3rd Placed photographers in each category will be awarded formal certificates, and the winner will also win a prize (details tbc)
17. Winning photographs will be posted on the County Web Site.
18. Any photograph submitted to the competition maybe be used by the County Scout Council for the purposes of publicity of Scouting, although all other rights are retained by the photographer.
