The 36th Ipswich scout group like many others is a totally self funded organization. We rely on the charitable support of the local community to enable us to raise the funds needed to run and equip the group.
The scout association requires the group to pay an annual capitation fee for each member of the group which is paid for by the subscription fees paid by parents. All other activities and expenses need to be financed by fundraising within the group.
Regular fundraising activities include:
Annual Fete - held at Sprites lane school playing field on 1st Saturday in July each year. (See separate fete page) .
Sponsored Walk - An event organised by ourselves to boost our funds.
Race nights - A firm favourite with our friends and supporters held once or twice a year. Very good fun!
Christmas Fayre - A event started in 2011! Come along and make it a success, many Christmas Crafts and a chance for the kids to visit Father Christmas.
Family Quiz Night - a good night out for all the family.
Train Rides - Our train will be out at many events during the year - More info on the train and a video showing how it was made can be found here
We are always on the lookout for fresh ideas for fundraising. If you think you can help us please contact:

Notable previous fundraising events have included The “Chunnel Walk” aka a historical sponsored walk through the newly completed Channel Tunnel. The Scout group was the smallest UK charity and only scout group invited to take part. We were represented by Sean Blowers the TV personality from Blue Watch out of London's Burning where we raised in excess of 9,000 pounds.
